GP PATIENT SURVEY

NHS England has asked GP practices to think about how and when they offer appointments. Your GP Practice is working in partnership with other local practices in the Primary care Network( PCN). PCNs are designed to improve patient care and the resilience of services through promoting collaboration.

The vast majority of GP practices are open from 8am till 6.30pm from Monday to Friday( excluding Bank Holidays) these are called Core Hours. GP practices sometimes deliver services outside of these Core Hours- for example running clinics on Saturday mornings. These are called Extended Hours services.

In Southampton we also have the 'Hubs' which are run by Southampton Primary Care Network( SPCL)and which offer appointments at various times and days of the week, from key GP practice locations in different parts of the city.

NHS England has asked that GP practices work collaboratively within their Networks and with other agencies like SPCL to bring these services together and tailor them more to local needs. The new combined services will start from 1st October 2022 and in the meantime we are keen to get the views of patients and the public to help with our planning.

We would be grateful if you could spend 5 minutes answering questions in our survey as this will help us to plan any changes we make from 1st October 2022
